James L. McCabe, Ph.D.
President and Founder
Jim McCabe is President and Founder of Drexel Morgan Capital Advisers (previously McCabe Capital Managers since 1980). In this role, he is responsible for macroeconomic research, financial market analysis, investment strategy and research, manager selection, asset allocation and portfolio management. He also manages client portfolios and relationships. He is a member of the firm’s Investment and Management Committees and Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Drexel Morgan, Jim was a Senior International Economist for Chase Econometric Associates, a subsidiary of Chase Manhattan Bank. Before that, he was visiting lecturer at Princeton University and the assistant director of the Yale Economic Growth Center. He started his career as an international economist with the U.S. Department of State and the World Bank.
Jim earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. with distinction in economics from Colby College.
He serves on several corporate and charity boards: trustee for and member of the executive and investment committees of the Eisenhower Fellowships; board member of the Studio Incamminati; treasurer and board member of the Asti-Kim Corporation; and advisory committee member of the University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Study on Aging. Previously served on the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (board and investment committee member) and the advisory committee for the Yale Economic Growth Center. Jim also served as the President of the Asti-Kim Corporation for over 20 years.
Jim resides in Bryn Mawr, PA, where he lives with his wife. He enjoys sailing, playing tennis and spending time with his grandchildren.
